Introduction - SEASON 1

So, if you’re stumbling across this blog I assume you have an interest in politics or current events or even just an interest in the different political perspectives of young people. Whatever the reason, this is an introduction into my latest endeavour known as ‘Notoriety: The People vs Politics’.

Recently, with the surge in referenda and the political spark caused by Jeremy Corbyn, more and more young people are immersing themselves in the world of politics, this is a good thing because the youth of today is the generation which will change the world for many years to come in potentially one of the most important periods of human history. Events such as Brexit are only the beginning of what may arguably become one of the most intense political periods in history and it’s important that young people are a huge part of this change. This blog will aim to capture the voices and opinions of passionate young people in a seemingly negative time for politics, we shall explore their take on current events, issues within society and school as well as how they feel about the government of the day.

Each so called “season” I create will capture the views of 5 different young people, each one having a different opinion on a wide range of topics and each one having their own unique style which makes them an individual. After 5 people have been interviewed, I will then aim to contact a local MP/politician for an interview in which I raise the questions brought on by our prior interviewees as well as some other thought provoking questions about the politics of today.

Even if this doesn’t get immense viewership, this blog can hopefully inspire young people and others to get involved with politics and make a change because in the current political climate, banding together and getting involved is more important than ever.
